Taft High School alumni will be gathering for an intimate affair on Friday, 10/28 from 6 - 10pm at the cafe of Schweet Original Homemade Chicago Cheesecake. The event is closed to the public and is located at 5248 W. Chicago Avenue. We're expecting you to stop in to enjoy Jazz and Neosoul music, a specially curated hot menu of gumbo, chili or artisan pizza, a beverage variety and the company of fellow Eagles. Price is a modest $20 per person and dress is casual.

Where is the cafe located?

What is in each entree?
All menu items are artisan made with select herbs and spices that we're sure you will enjoy:

8-Inch Artisan pizza - hand raised dough, slow simmered sauce, well seasoned toppings, fresh baked in 9 minutes.
Austin Chili - slow simmered with ground turkey and accompanied by a side of house made cornbread.
Westside Gumbo - slow simmered like in the Bayou. Made with chicken sausage, rice, shrimp and a balanced roux. Also served with a side of cornbread.

I heard it's BYOB. Tell me about it.

Yes!! The cafe encourages you to bring your own wine, champagne, vodka, rum, etc.! There will be a beverage extraordinaire (you know who he is) on site to combine your favorite spirit with a mixer of your choosing! Don't miss it. Have you ever heard of "Pot Licka"?

Do I have to make a food reservation if I don't plan to eat?

The ticket purchase includes food. So, if you are opting not to dine, feel free to gift your meal to a fellow Eagle!

Is cheesecake the only dessert option? Can I substitute it? What size is it?

As a cheesecake company, it is our specialty dessert that we sell daily and encourage you to try. You'll be served our popular individual sized 4-inch round. It's plentiful. If you'd rather not have cheesecake, you can opt for cookies that will be available.

Is there a dress code?

Come casual. No need to get dressed up. Jeans and a lil funk is the vibe. Think: "Love Jones", Maxwell, Mos Def, Jill Scott.

Is there parking available?

Parking is free and available readily on the street!

Is there seating for everyone?

Seating/ticket sales are limited as the space is a quaint cafe. So, early reservation is suggested. Once the allotted number of tickets are sold, sales will be discontinued to ensure guest comfort.

When I arrive what I can I expect?

When you arrive, expect a savory hot entree perfect for the season (pick up your order from the counter), Jazz and NeoSoul music and great company! The Eagle way.
